Here are a few links to model railroad web sites and forums that I have found to be a great help to the model train hobbyist. The list is in no special order, I visit all of them on a regularly. Each is an excellent source for information and have members eager to share their knowledge with others.

Hobbyist
The Model Railroad Hobbyist is a free on-line magazine that in my opinion is way ahead of the curve. The articles are very well done and should appeal to almost every model train buff. There are links to their forums, blogs. Again all of this is free. - Trainboard.com
Trainboard is a web site that has numerous forums that for many different scales, plus other areas of interest to the model railroad community. There a specialty groups too. If a subject you are interested in does not have a group, you can create your own. This is also free. - Trains.com
This is the web site for Model Railroader Magazine, Trains, Garden Railways and Classic Toy Trains. There forums are free but some of the web sites content is restricted to subscribers of the magazine.
